My holiday in Portugal is almost over! It feels like I've only just got here, so that's sad. I have done nothing but relax and enjoy the sun (which is fine by me). I have been writing and almost finished the book I brought with me. I don't usually go swimming at all when I'm at home, but since I've been here I've gone swimming everyday (well, I tried to do laps, but my sister kept pestering me to play with her, so I've not done that many).
My Mum bravely hired a car over here so we could do a bit of travelling. I deeply regretted her decision. Her driving in England isn't particularly pleasant, let alone in a foreign country where you drive on the opposite side of the road (when I wasn't giving directions, I had my eyes pressed closed).
We went to a place called Portimao which was packed with people and had a lot of stalls and caves - I really wanted to go and find some dolphins in the caves, but we didn't get round to it.
Earlier today we went past a place called Aqua Zen which did fish pedicures. I've never had a normal pedicure before, let alone a fish one. Small toothless fish nibble at the dead skin on your feet when you place them in the tanks. The sensation of fish sucking at your feet was a new one. It wasn't that bad at all. It felt like getting thousands of fish kisses on your feet. My skin felt really smooth when the time was up, so it was definitely worth it!
I can't resist a milkshake! Seriously I've had about 15 since I've been here!!!
When I go on holiday I always see a lot of different people (obviously). A lot of the time I see people and I never forget them. I can still remember faces from holidays years ago. And these are not necessarily people I've even spoken to - they are just strangers - and even so, I can still remember them as though they were my friends. I don't know if that's weird, but even now, I think about these complete strangers who are probably oblivious to the fact I even exist. Yet, I still think about them. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if I'd spoken to them. If my life would have changed in any way if I had. Its funny how just meeting someone new could change your whole future completely.
I am really loving my holiday. Portugal is a nice, friendly place to be. It's warm and there is plenty to do. Time goes too quickly, so I'm trying to make the most of these last few days before it's back to good old England.
Thanks for reading and feel free to share any nice holidays you've been on :)
